Helping Seniors with their Legal Needs

Guiding Seniors Through Estate Planning

For over 50 years, we have assisted seniors with their unique legal issues, in Canton, Ohio, and throughout Stark County, Carroll County, Tuscarawas County, and Summit County, including:

  • Estate Planning
  • Asset Protection
  • Wills and Trusts
  • Medicaid Planning
  • Powers of Attorney
  • Advance Directives (Healthcare and Living Will)
  • Avoiding Guardianship

Often one of the most pressing concerns facing seniors is the care and security of their families upon their death. After attentively listening to your wishes, we carefully analyze your estate and advise you on how best to transfer your assets, minimize estate taxes, establish guardianship for minor children, support personal philanthropic causes and even protect a beloved pet. We can draft a will that reflects your desires and establish trusts and other legal entities beneficial to your estate.

We can help guide you through the frustrating red tape of Medicaid. We address your concerns about your future medical care and shepherd you through difficult end-of-life decisions, always respectful of the family, cultural, religious and philosophical reasons for your personal choices. We can draft valid medical documents that make certain your intentions will be honored if the time comes when you are no longer able to make these decisions for yourself.

A Word on Elder Abuse

In 2018, a new Ohio law expanded the definition of elder abuse and the groups of individuals required to report suspicions of it.  You can read more about the changes here.  Reports of elder abuse can be made to local adult protective services or by calling 1-855-OHIO-APS (1-855-644-6277) 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
